Downtown girls know how to get dressed- without looking like they are trying too hard. They keep their sartorial choices functional without sacrificing an ounce of style.  Here, we have both warm weather and fall/transitional options for your downtown dinner and drinks!

For your first stop, head over to Ñ (Crosby between Broome and Grand), a sultry little spanish tapas spot where you can nibble on little delicacies and Spanish wine and enjoy conversation.  Little leather shorts already exude a downtown vibe.  Add some sandals that you can really stomp around in and a drapey tee- simple, easy, fresh.

After dinner, head over to Gallery Bar (120 Orchard Street).  If it gets cooler in the evening, switch out the shorts for some super cool tuxedo stripe jeans, and add some booties.  Depending on how much stuff you need to carry around, a little snakeskin bag in a boxy shape with balance the relaxed look, or find a classic looking satchel if you require more space (like most of us!).

Remember that being a downtown girl is not all about the black!  Especially in the warmer months, mix in some other neutrals like taupe, which look amazing with the season’s hot neon hues.

Polish off the outfit with some understated jewelry, perhaps in an arrow motif, or delicate gold chains and rings. You’ll be perfectly dressed for sipping libations and strolling around the artwork at Gallery Bar- not overdone, but with attention to detail and functionality, which is what it takes to be a downtowner!
