What better way to celebrate the glory days of summer than a full-fledged Americana getup for this patriotic holiday?  From overt stars and stripes to subtle layering of all-American standards like chambray, you’ll be perfectly decked out whether it be for cocktails or a standard barbecue.

A classic chambray button down will take you from desk to dinner and beyond on this holiday.  Spruce up for your workday with a blazer and statement necklace, then when you’re heading out to the barbecue lose the jacket and bling and tie into a sweet knot at the bottom of your shirttails, letting just enough of that tan skin show.

Colored denim fever doesn’t seem to be leaving us anytime soon, so add a bit of rock and roll to your look with a pair of red hot skinnies.  They would be perfect for watching fireworks when the evening cools down. Pair with a white eyelet bustier and chunky camel sandals for a retro look.

Or, add a seasonal staple to your wardrobe arsenal- white denim!  I know my white jeans are workhorses this time of year- they can look positively chic paired with a light leather jacket and statement sunnies, or Sunday casual with a flowy lightweight blouse in whisper pink.  Just swapping out your old blues for a pair in white can really elevate your look without changing much else.
